What You’ll Do:
As an Employment Specialist, you will provide direct support to individuals facing barriers to employment, delivering personalized job training, career services, and retention support. Working as part of the Mission Services team and under the leadership of the Director of Employment Services, you’ll help participants gain the skills and confidence needed to secure meaningful employment—at Goodwill or in the community—advancing our mission to help people, families, and communities thrive through the power of work, education, and strong relationships.
Job Type: Full-Time, Salaried Non-Exempt
Salary: $35,000-$40,000 annually
Schedule: Monday through Friday, office hours 7:30am-4:00pm
Essential Functions:
Assess & Plan Services: Evaluate individual strengths, needs, and barriers; develop tailored service plans with clear employment goals.
Deliver Job Readiness Support: Provide coaching on resumes, interviews, and job search strategies; connect participants to training, education, and labor market resources.
Facilitate Job Placement & Employer Engagement: Build and maintain employer relationships, understand hiring trends, and promote hiring incentives to create opportunities.
Support Retention & Career Growth: Prepare individuals for workplace success, coordinate employer supports, and offer ongoing retention and advancement guidance.
Coordinate Services & Represent Goodwill: Collaborate with internal and external partners, ensure compliance with policies and CARF standards, and represent Goodwill professionally in all settings.

What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred (or equivalent experience in job coaching, recruitment, or sales/marketing). Experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
- Proven ability to motivate and support individuals toward employment goals
- Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, internet use, database systems, and other software applications.
- Skilled in managing confidential information and maintaining accurate records
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
- Knowledge of community resources and workforce development practices
- Flexible with work hours and travel; able to work in varied environments
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and automobile insurance
- Personal cell phone for emergency use while transporting clients
- Employment offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a drug test and criminal background check.
