Lead Material Handler - Outlet Store

Job duties:
*Work with Operations Supervisor and/or Transportation Supervisor to maintain dock and plant area at an optimum level of orderliness and safety.
*Provide hands-on assistance in all departmental functions, as needed.
*Performance of other duties on behalf of the Agency, as assigned by the Operations Supervisor and/or Transportation Supervisor.
*Maintain efficient departmental workflow.
*Organize donations to allow for safe and efficient operations.
*Provide instruction to employees/clients in proper material handling techniques.
*Assist in unloading trucks and helping drivers with store shipments, pick-ups and collections as directed by the Operations Supervisor and/or Transportation Supervisor.
*Operate baler and bale salvage as needed.
*Must be physically able to lift 50 pounds and able to perform the assigned responsibilities (standing, bending, walking, climbing).
*Must be present and prompt daily.
*Must be flexible and able to fill in for other departments, as needed.
Other Duties:
*Performance of other duties on behalf of the Agency as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor and/or Operations Supervisor.
Qualifications:
*Must be physically capable of performing essential functions of the position.
*Stand for extended periods of time.
*Flexible work schedule to include evenings and weekends, if necessary.
*Must be certified to operate a fork truck.
*Ability to work without close supervision.
*Must be honest and dependable and exercise good judgment and initiative.
*Must possess leadership qualities that motivate subordinates.
*Courteous and tactful communication.
*Provide police background report.
*Submit to pre-employment and random drug screens.
*Remain loyal to company and its policies.
Physical requirements include the ability to twist, bend, squat, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, push and pull. The employee must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and team lift or use equipment to aid in the lifting and movement of items over 40 pounds (common items include, but are not limited to, bags of clothes/miscellaneous items, televisions, computers, sofas, kitchen appliances, bicycles and bedroom sets).
Working environment is indoors with occasional exposure to outside temperatures, and will work around occupational allergens, both air and contact, including but not limited to, dust, animal hair and dander, perfumes, and mold. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
